Logistics Infrastructure : KLIA 2 AHEAD OF SCHEDULE!!

We finally hear a positive news of the Malaysian mega infrastructure project, KLIA 2 will completed sooner than was expected. Prior to this, there were various doubts & criticism raised that the project will possibly experience delays in completion by the 30th April 2014. This was due to commotion between Malaysian Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) & AirAsia with regards to request of raising passenger capacity from 30 million to 45 million per annum. Besides that, the construction of KLIA 2 was awarded to main esteemed contractors, UEM & Bina Puri. Both companies, taking up the joint venture construction works were blaming each other for delays that occurred. All of these non-constructive reasons led the project cost ballooning from MYR 1.9 Billion to MYR 4.0 Billion.

After all of the disheartening news we have heard, we finally ae made aware that the KLIA 2 project construction can be completed by end of the year 2013. We really hope that this is true and remain unchanged. As a summary, our country seems to plan on such large infrastructure for not more than 5 years. We are not sure on the reason why but I will not be surprised that there will be a need for KLIA 3 soon.

Thank you & regards,
